My fifth grade lesson this month required students to use the habits of persistence, thinking interdependently, and required them to manage their impulsivity! Students worked together to try and build the tallest 'free standing' tower out of 10 balloons, a trash bag, and an arms length of scotch tape. Along the way they were given 'restrictions' requiring them to work as a team and problem solve ways to be successful. I was very proud of the creative ideas, determination, and cooperation I saw. We had great discussions to follow on the importance of sharing ideas, taking turns, and working together! It was fun :)
