Thank you again to everyone to has helped us get this program up and running!
The staff at Parkwood was excited to send home our first CHEW packs of food with children last Friday! The combined efforts of our school food drive, united way community donations, community food drives, and staff coming together made it possible and it was a huge success! Below is a sample of what one student took home with them. In order to keep our program going we are going to need to have on going food drives and fundraising efforts at our school. One thing our staff will do each month is a special 'dress down day'. This is a day where staff can wear jeans and a school shirt to school for a donation of food to our CHEW program. Below is a picture of today's donation, along with an amazing donation one of our teachers got from reaching out to a local church's life group! Other upcoming events we will have to help raise funds for our CHEW program are a Parent's Night Out on Friday, November 13th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and a School Dance for 4th and 5th grades in December (more info. coming soon about that!) If you are interested in donating to our CHEW program, we are always accepting food donations. In addition, people can donate directly to the United Way of Onslow County and specify that they would like their donations to benefit the Parkwood CHEW program.
Thank you again to everyone to has helped us get this program up and running!
