Parkwood students are invited to join us for our first Parent Night Out of the 2017 school year! Students can attend this event and watch the Christmas movie 'Arthur's Christmas', make a craft with Mr. Gould, and have dinner with us! Cost is $10. Families that have multiple students it is $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional sibling. Hurry cause only the first 80 students that return their permission slip and payment are able to attend. Pre-payment is required and no refunds once you have paid. See the permission slip below! (One is coming home with each student today!)

3rd grade classes are going fishing for kindness this month! We are practicing using kind, genuine words to people, even if you may not be friends with them or know them that well. It is always a fun activity for all!
Mrs. Knipp's class and I will be reading a social story on manners this month and then enjoying several good manner songs that we will sing and dance to! We hope to practice our manners, specifically please and thank you at school with our friends!
This month 1st grade classes and I are reading A bad case of Tattle Tongue by Julia Cook. We will be putting what we learn to the test by identifying examples of what is tattling and what is reporting! We hope to leave remembering the 'Tattle Rules' in our classes everyday.
You have 15 minutes to build the tallest, free standing structure you can using only the materials I give you. Materials= a bag full of 10 balloons and an arms length of scotch tape. No other supplies or materials are allowed. In addition, you will have obstacles along the way that may limit your ability to do or use certain things...example only use one arm, sit on the floor/can't stand up, not allowed to talk. GO! And.....STOP! Time is up! Let's Talk about this!
Habits of Mind? Team Work? Problem Solving? We hope all of our Veteran's had a great Veteran's Day! Our students made some special pictures and letters that are displayed at our school, The VA Clinic, The USO and Golden Corral Restaurant.
